The author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to find inspiration for his next book, only to find that a bloodthirsty vampire is attacking the townspeople. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. It wants to get rid of the sexier, more romanticized undead that have infested pop culture for the better part of the past quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. When Ben reads an old newspaper on microfilm in the library, the headline reads «Local Drunken Victims».

The acting was okay

I’ve been waiting to watch it for a while now, at least since there were whispers that a remake was coming. The movie wasn’t terrible, I gave it a six (that might be too generous) because it was watchable. So I was hoping it would be redone with the kind of money that would write all that "It" was when the last remake was made. Everything went a little wrong with this movie.

There was almost zero character development

They could have done a lot better in developing interest in the characters. I thought it was a rush towards the end, the final run was terrible, some should have really braked for it! Why? Why redo something if you don’t make it great!

Stephen King is an amazing writer and if the production is done right it should be amazing. Very disappointed …. The last series of "What we do in the shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
