Let me preface this by saying that I haven’t watched the original French series it’s based on. I’m also a huge Fassbunder fan, so take that into consideration. I’ve seen others criticize the writing. I just don’t agree at all. It can be very mysterious and a little vague at times, but it all builds and keeps me very intrigued and interested. I felt like the other main actors were very solid in their roles so far. Fassbender is great, but a little subdued. Although that will obviously change based on the upcoming previews. So is actress Jodie Turner. Smith is new to me, but I love her so far. You can feel that things are really simmering beneath the surface, so I’m looking forward to the next episodes.
