In my experience, TV ratings are consistently accurate
Line of Events
Two women from contrasting lives come together. One struggles to survive after her mother kicks her out, while the other runs a thriving business. Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black showed promise at first, but its plot veered into familiar, melodramatic territory.
It’s disappointing to see talented actors limited to such projects
Unfortunately, this series epitomizes the drawn-out, unrealistic storytelling typical of a soap opera. While all of Tyler Perry’s work is lacking in quality, his dramas often feature over-the-top, over-the-top storylines. Predictable writing, underwhelming acting, and amateurish improvisation detract from the viewing experience.
Unnecessary nudity is rampant
The slow-paced dialogue and plot, coupled with repetitive dialogue from episode to episode, and lack of resolution hurt the show’s potential. My main interest in this show stems from my admiration for TS Madison’s personality, and I love watching her develop on TV and in film; However, I would like to see her cast in more respectable productions that truly challenge her abilities and encourage her growth. It’s sad to see a branch of the church succumb to pressure to accept Hollywood’s dubious ideologies, producing scripts that prioritize violence, disturbing sexual themes, and uninspiring narratives that end in tragedy.
Is Beauty in Black worth watching?
Once-promising actors have seen their talents wane and have gone on to print careers. Unfortunately, this pattern is typical of many TP dramatic offerings. Only if the options are limited.
