Line of Events

Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who is now living in a Home for Retired Bears. An exciting adventure begins with the Brown family when a mystery leads them on an unexpected journey. The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment. However, he came up with the idea for the third film and was involved as an executive producer. OK, Mrs. Brown has taken a new direction.

For a few minutes I thought: Oh no!!

For those who don’t know, the previous clerk Sally Hawkins said it was time to move on. I tried to warm up to her, but to me Emily Mortimer is just an older product of the London School of Lovely girls. I know the series has moved on, but Emily’s initial moves are annoyingly flat and uninspired. I tried really hard to like her, she develops strangely in the latter part of the film… they could have at least given her a sensible script, she seemed too much like a little wife who doesn’t say much. Sorry, Em!

Let’s be fair

Same goes for Madeleine Harris playing Judy, maybe next time she’ll have more great lines, for both. Maybe she tried to be Sally Hawkins at times, I’m not sure, but she had big shoes to fill, and Sally was a huge success. They all did a great job in their roles by the end. Anyway, this time the nice Peruvian takes the initiative and comes to the aid of the family members. This journey takes him all over the world, where… A family member is in trouble, and the oldest stupidity and the cardinal sin is the cause of all the misfortunes.

that doesn’t detract from the CGI impact of the film, especially one ear-splitting one

The scenery in the faraway place is stunning, simply wonderful, it inspired me to go there, as well as London, which is grimly happy. There is a lot of humor, action and tearful scenes in the film, but very young children, not very brave in nature, will find this show not very warm, at times frightening, I thought so too. Visually it is just as fantastic as the previous films, while the script is flat and somewhat predictable at times, the mysteries revealed are simple enough for a five year old to figure out… aha… target audience. Haha…

Forget it if you have a healthy phobia of certain creatures (not snakes)

It looks like Bonneville had a hair transplant, I’m not sure, but as usual he gives it his all, as does Walters and some great newcomers in the story. Hey… a charming character from the last film shows up, let’s be honest, I don’t think this is the end.
